Committed to Safety

The subject of safety is of great importance to our company. We are dedicated to providing and maintaining safe, healthy working conditions for our employees, subcontractors, clients and visitors while protecting the environment and physical assets on and off the work site.

Our Principles

We employ two full time safety personnel. One of these is a Certified Safety Officer (C.S.O.). Our safety department constantly monitors our program to ensure the core program is meeting and/or exceeding industry standards. Continually questioning and analyzing our safety standards and procedures ensures we maintain a safe work environment.

Our health and safety program includes training personnel, project hazard assessment, safety meetings, site inspections, accident/incident investigations and the use of safe work practices and job procedures. These are just a few of the key elements.

We are proud to say we have never had a work site fatality and managed to keep our accident and incidents to a significantly low occurrence.

Certified Safety

Double K Excavating Ltd. acquired their COR certification from the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association (S.C.S.A.) in 1999. In 2021 we transitioned to the COR program executed by the Heavy Construction Safety Association of Saskatchewan (H.C.S.A.S). Their knowledge and experience with contractors were more in line with the work that we do. Our health and safety program is subject to an internal audit on an annual basis. This is performed by one of our safety personnel. Every three years the program is subject to an external audit. This auditor is selected by the H.C.S.A.S and our health and safety program goes through vigorous scrutiny to ensure we are upholding industry standards.

National COR Standard

We appreciate safety to be of utmost importance for the successful execution of any project. We strongly believe that by demanding involvement and cooperation from each and every worker when it comes to both their safety responsibilities and the company’s responsibilities that we will have a work crew that respects the safety requirements of the job.
